Brandon Peri, BSc | Research Assistant

Brandon obtained his BSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Physiology from University College Utrecht in 2023. During his studies, he first worked with Pieter Roelfsema at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN), investigating acetylcholine dynamics in V1 during visual learning. He then joined the lab of Matteo Carandini and Kenneth Harris at UCL, where he contributed to the development of a deep learning–based analysis pipeline for classifying behavioural motifs in rodents. For his undergraduate thesis, Brandon returned to NIN to work with Alexander Heimel’s group, using high-density electrophysiology and optogenetics to study inhibitory microcircuits in the mouse superficial superior colliculus. As one of the lab's first members, Brandon is helping build bespoke experimental setups and develop software for data acquisition and analysis.
